Driving Tests in the UK

... were actually introduced in 1934, but they were not compulsory until 1 June 1935, when all people who had started to drive on or after 1 April 1934 needed to have passed the test. (There was a 'period of grace', when the test was voluntary in order to avoid a rush of candidates.)

Bizarrely, in Week 18 of last season, the opposite mistake was made (the year when the test was made compulsory was given as 1934).
